This was my first trip home during the summer in 3 years. I forgot how much I love Ontario summers.. the heat, humidity, warm nights…

When I was a teenager, turning 18 could not come fast enough – I wanted to go as far away from home as I possibly could. I was curious and I wanted more than I thought a small town could offer. So, I got on a plane for the first time in my life, heading somewhere I’d never been, with no idea what to expect, completely on my own.

Though I would not take those experiences back for anything, this past trip home really got me thinking about what is important in my own life. There is something enchanting about living in a small town. And I’ve realized, if you’re not careful – living in a city for so long can make you lose sight of the beauty in simplicity. Help for the Hangry

FullSizeRenderI’ve been warned by those that love me most (more times than I’d like to admit!) that if I don’t carry some sort of food with me at all times, they will not hang out with me anymore. Apparently being “hangry” is a real thing lol …So, I love granola bars but I don’t like sugar and I don’t like processed. Someone once told me how easy it was to make your own – so I decided to play! And they’re delicious and these are the only ingredients you need (+ honey)!!

I also heard somewhere that you need to put dates and honey in to make them stick together, so IMG_3786that’s what I did. I initially wanted to do almond butter bars but when I was the grocery store this natural peanut butter was $3.99 and the almond butter was $17.99 – so I went with the PB. But since they’ve turned out so well, I will try almond butter next!

Most days I feel like I knew myself better when I was young, carefree and believed all you had to do was dream big to achieve big! Welp, now that I know big dreams come with a lot of work and many decisions, (and lots of trial and error!) I have come up with a good list that really helps me put things in perspective and just make the damn decision!

Read on for my list on how to make those decisions…Now if it were only as easy as which shoes to purchase!
